Interested in starting a band or rap group or breaking yours
into the big time? Those who have been there suggest:
Practicing. As the saying goes, it makes perfect. Or at
least decent enough so that others will pay to listen.
Networking. Don't be lazy. Follow any and all leads.
Consistency. Some groups change names the way the rest of us
change underwear. Still, it's a fact of life in the music
biz. Try to keep confusion to a minimum.
Originality. A few covers here and there won't hurt, but
original songs and raps are what sell.
Reinvesting. Upgrade equipment as funds allow.
Persevering. Stick-to-it-ive-ness often pays off . . . but
it also helps to be good.
